NEW PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION FOR PRECAST CONCRETE FACADES

Siderise has launched its new PC-FS Firestop and PC-CB Cavity Barrier range, a passive fire protection package developed specifically for precast concrete cladding systems.

Siderise previously supported precast concrete façade applications with its CW-FS Firestop, providing a fully compliant solution. However, growing demand for these durable and efficient external wall systems led the company to develop a dedicated range that addresses practical challenges such as tight tolerances, limited access, complex interfaces and construction sequencing.

The products feature a stone wool Lamella core that provides built-in compression. Combined with a bracket-free fixing method for narrow voids, this can help reduce installation times compared with less compressible barriers.

PC-FS Firestop and PC-CB Cavity Barrier can also be installed from above or below the slab. This makes them suitable for projects where topside access is restricted or where construction sequencing requires an alternative installation method.

Both products have been tested to EN 1366-4 for resistance to fire and EN 13501-1 for reaction to fire. Supplementary fire test evidence is also available for precast concrete panel bracket penetrations, end-of-flexible-wall configurations and firestop bracket fixing to the underside of the slab edge, supporting a wider range of project conditions.

The PC-FS60 and PC-FS120 firestopping products offer third-party-certified fire performance of one and two hours respectively.

The PC-FS60 and PC-FS120 firestopping products offer third-party-certified fire resistance of one and two hours respectively, while the PC-CB30 cavity barrier provides 30 minutes of fire resistance.

As with all Siderise solutions, PC-FS Firestop and PC-CB Cavity Barrier are supported by comprehensive technical services and a range of resources designed to assist with specification.

These include a specification pack containing the necessary technical information, along with guidance on joints and complex details such as blade column interfaces and other challenging geometries.
