DELIVERING CERTIFIED PASSIVE HOUSE FACADES AT SCALE

Metal Technology has become a trusted partner for certified Passive House facade systems in the UK and Ireland.


Within the last four years, Metal Technology’s range has been specified on projects with a combined construction value exceeding £2.5 billion. These include the £120m St Columba’s RC High School and Woodmill High School at Dunfermline Learning Campus, the UK’s largest Passivhaus-certified education buildings.


At Queen’s University in Belfast, the £35m Weaver’s Hall project is the city’s first Passive House student accommodation at Queen’s University Belfast, while the ambitious £400 million redevelopment of The University of Manchester’s Fallowfield Campus is set to become one of Europe’s largest Passive House developments.

The launch of Metal Technology’s System 4-45 Hi+ casement window marks a significant industry milestone as the first aluminium Passive House certified casement window system in the UK and Ireland.


With U-values as low as 0.71 W/m²K, it sets a new benchmark for thermal performance and gives specifiers greater flexibility to meet varying project demands.


Metal Technology has also developed a RIBA-approved Passive House CPD programme.


This session equips architects and specifiers with a clear understanding of Passive House principles, including façade U-values, thermal bridging, airtightness, ventilation, solar gain, and overall certification requirements.


From a project delivery perspective, Metal Technology offers true end-to-end support.

Its in-house Passive House-qualified design team provides proactive technical input from concept stage through to completion, ensuring seamless integration with the building’s overall energy strategy and architectural vision.
