The project is part of a wider TfL urban regeneration initiative to repurpose disused railway arches across the city. The new units created in the space beneath the arches are being let for commercial and community use for a variety of purposes including cafes, shops, gyms, hair salons and workspaces.

As part of the scheme at Wood Lane, Passivent worked with the architects Extended Studio at the early design stage, to develop a cross-flow ventilation strategy which would create a comfortable environment for occupants. Passivent’s insulated controllable dampers were installed by Delta House Group on opposing sides of the units to facilitate the cross-flow of air and are controlled by Passivent’s eC300 controllers in each of the arches.

The insulated controllable damper is the internal component of Passivent’s Aircool ventilator. Each unit comprises controllable double skin aluminium louvre blades with an ABS thermal break to provide thermal insulation in the closed position. In total, 24 of Passivent’s dampers were supplied as part of the Wood Lane Arches project.
