New Siniat plasterboard manufacturing facility named Global Gypsum Plant of the Year

A £170m production facility opened in Bristol this year by Etex to produce plasterboard for the Siniat brand has been named Global Gypsum Plant of the Year.

Achieving international recognition, the new plasterboard line was singled out at the industry’s high-profile Global Gypsum Awards, which recognise innovation and excellence in the gypsum industry.

Opened in March this year, the production line has been designed to deliver efficiency and to support sustainable manufacturing. It will allow Siniat, a leading manufacturer of drywalling systems, to produce more than 98 per cent of its portfolio of boards in the new state-of-the art-facility in the UK. 

The new facility, which is a zero waste to landfill site, supports Siniat’s sustainability targets and is a key part of the wider Etex sustainability roadmap, which includes rainwater harvesting and increasing product recycled content year-on-year.

The production line was named as Global Gypsum Plant of the Year as part of the Global Gypsum Conference, which took place in Amsterdam recently.
