Mapped Out Media launches inaugural Round Table event to tackle the future of retrofit in Britain

Industry leaders from across the built environment will meet in London to discuss how existing buildings can be transformed to meet modern carbon reduction standards and support the UK’s transition to net zero.

Mapped Out Media Limited is pleased to announce the first Round Table event, taking place at The Building Centre, London, on 8 September.

The inaugural event will focus on one of the most significant challenges facing the built environment: “Retrofitting Britain – Transforming Existing Buildings to Meet Modern Carbon Reduction Standards & Achieve Net Zero.”

With much of the building stock that will be occupied in the decades ahead already standing today, improving the energy efficiency and environmental performance of existing buildings will be critical to achieving the UK’s carbon reduction ambitions.

The round table will bring together manufacturers, architects, specifiers, housing associations and other key industry stakeholders to examine the practical challenges surrounding retrofit, share experiences from across the sector and explore what needs to change to accelerate meaningful progress.

Discussions are expected to consider the technical, commercial and practical barriers to large-scale retrofit, alongside the opportunities for greater collaboration between those designing, specifying, manufacturing and managing the buildings of the future.

The event is being sponsored by Dimplex UK, Deceuninck UK and AccuRoof, part of SIG Roofing, whose support will help Mapped Out Media bring together voices from across the industry for an open and practical conversation.

The round table also marks the beginning of a wider programme of industry discussion from Mapped Out Media, designed to create a forum in which key stakeholders can exchange knowledge and address some of the most pressing issues affecting the built environment.

Following the event, key themes, insights and conclusions from the discussion will be shared with readers of Specify & Build and Heating, Plumbing & Renewables (HP&R), extending the conversation to professionals across the construction, specification, heating, plumbing and renewables sectors.
