Engineered stone offers a smart specification for new kitchens

Engineered stone worktops are a smart specification for housebuilders looking to add value and appeal to new kitchens, according to Joanne Bull of Königstone.

Often referred to as quartz, engineered stone worktops offer the luxurious look of natural stone with enhanced durability. They’re scratch- and stain-resistant, easy to maintain, and don’t require sealing – making them ideal for busy households.

Available in a wide range of colours and finishes, these surfaces suit everything from industrial-inspired kitchens to warm, timber-accented spaces. Popular choices such as Königstone’s Concrete Sand and Giulietta harmonise beautifully with cabinetry, creating a cohesive and inviting look.

Each installation is bespoke, with options including edge profiles, splashbacks, drainer grooves and mitred panels. Königstone’s premium joint technology allows for more seamless oversized islands and long runs, enhancing design flexibility.Engineered stone can also accommodate features like pop-up sockets and wireless charging stations – ideal for today’s connected homes.
